| Alec praises Kim after feud
Alec Baldwin, whose divorce and custody battle with ex-wife Kim Basinger has been as long as it is intense, has praised the actress for her parenting skills. After winning a new court order earlier this year, the 'Hunt For Red October' actor appears ready to cease the legal battle. "My ex-wife was somebody who was funny and she was fun... and she was a lot of fun to be with," he said on Larry King Live last week. "She was a great, great person. And then all of a sudden I think we just wanted to live different lives. But I think she's a great mother, yes, good mom." The actor also revealed that he's happy with the custody rights he now has over daughter Ireland. "I have what I have now. I have the orders that I have now."

We have enjoyed her portrayal of Jane Austen characters, now Kate Winslet is portraying something more relevant to her true self. We discussed how her most recent character of this current era compares to other characters from past eras. You spent a lot of time in your career wearing corsets to play English women. How did you feel in this role portraying a modern English woman? KW: Terrified. Honestly, terrified. Ive never played a contemporary English woman. The closest Ive come is that I did a little film right after Titanic called Hideous Kinky that was set in the late 60s. It was really scary that I didnt have anything to hide behind. Im used to playing character parts, being somebody else entirely, and erasing all shred of myself in order to play a part. This wasnt like that.
Eastwood, Streep and Yeoh set to star in 'The Rape of Nanking'
Melbourne, Dec 19: Clint Eastwood, Meryl Streep, Michelle Yeoh and Zhang Ziyi are being courted to star in an adaptation of Iris Chang's 'The Rape of Nanking'.The film will be directed by Simon West and focuses on massacres carried out in China by the Japanese. Though the duration of the massacre is not clearly defined, it resulted in the murder of innocents and lasted for six weeks until early February in 1938, reports Moviehole quoting Monkey Peaches.The film's central characters will be a group of foreign nationals who are helping to protect thousands of civilians during the carnage.Although the executions began under the pretext of eliminating Chinese soldiers masquerading as civilians, a large number of innocent men were wrongfully identified as enemy combatants and killed, or simply killed in any event as the massacre gathered impetus.
Garner, Affleck take Violet for W.Va. baptism
Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck's 1-year-old daughter, Violet, has been baptized at Christ Church United Methodist in Charleston, W.Va., where the actress' parents are members. Pastor Randy Flanagan said members of the congregation weren't star-struck - or didn't show it too much - when the Hollywood couple showed up on Christmas Eve with their daughter. Violet's cousin Alex was also baptized. Garner, 34, a Charleston native, and Affleck, also 34, were married in June 2005. .
Gellar, Evans, Smith and Ziyi Board TMNT!
USA Today has published a big feature article with many new details about Warner Bros. Pictures' TMNT, in theaters on March 30. The article includes new photos and says that Zhang Ziyi voices the villain Karai, who leads an evil army known as the Foot Ninjas into battle against the turtle brothers. Sarah Michelle Gellar is the voice of April, the human researcher who serves as the Turtles' tech-services worker and mother figure. "Fantastic Four" star Chris Evans is the hockey-stick-swinging Casey Jones, and Clerks filmmaker Kevin Smith also voices a cameo as a greasy-spoon chef. The Turtles themselves will not have celebrity voices, however. As reported earlier, "X-Men" star Patrick Stewart is voicing Max Winters, a tech industrialist who is amassing an army of monsters in the city.
