| Olsen Twins Launch Fashion Line With Childhood Friend
New York, NY (AHN) - Self-made multi-millionaires and media stars Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have teamed up with their childhood friend, Danielle Sherman, to launch a fashion line called The Row. The line features 28 basic knitted pieces ranging from a t-shirt to floor-sweeping cashmere vest costing $150 to $850 respectively. Sherman tells US Vogue that it took them nine months to even perfect a seamless, slouchy, silken t-shirt with a French seam at the back. " We wanted perfection-or as close as we could get," Sherman says, "And we didn't have to rush to achieve it." The high-end couture seaming technique was also used in their bat-wing top, mini slip and super skinny black pant. The line's name is inspired from the famous London street, Savile Row, well-known for its impeccable tailoring.

Being (dis)honored by People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) on their Worst Dressed Celebrity of 2006 list for wearing fur has made actress Christina Ricci see the errors of her way. The fact that fans were also not so enthusiastic about seeing their favorite celebrity don dead animals' coats prompted the actress to send an apology email to the animal rights organization. I never meant to hurt nor anger anyone with my insensitivity. For what it is worth I have received the message loud and clear and will not be wearing fur in the future. I apologize for my offensive actions, the actress wrote in the email. Ricci was placed third on the list, which was topped by Nicole Richie and Ashley Olsen. .

Strong start catapults NDA, 74-36
If there is one thing Notre Dame Academy coach John Hannafin would like to see his team do this year, it would be get off to quicker starts. The Gators were notoriously sluggish out of the gate for much of last season, and that theme held in their first two non-league contests this month. But not last night. NDA opened the CHSAA Staten Island division season by scoring 26 points in the first quarter en route to a 74-36 victory over host St. Joseph by-the-Sea as four Gators notched double digits in a contest that got lopsided early and stayed that way. "That habit of scoring six or eight points in the first quarter and looking sluggish just has to change, and I told the girls as much," Hannafin explained. "We need to be able to run right from the opening tap, and the play the type of hustling defense we're capable of." The Gators beat the Vikings all over the court in the opening stanza as Samantha Salvatore (21 points, eight rebounds) and Ashley Olsen (14 points, nine boards) controlled the paint, point guard Brittany Zinke consistently led a break, and Hannah Tait twice beat Sea down the floor for easy buckets.
