Ocean's Twelve take on Paris

Hollywood stars have gathered in Paris for the advance French premiere of Ocean's Twelve, the sequel to the highly successful remake of the rat pack film Ocean's Eleven.

The film reunites a high profile cast including George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Mat Damon and Julia Roberts, but the new line up also stars Academy Award winning actress Catherine Zeta Jones and French actor Vincent Cassel.

The addition of Vincent brought praise from actor Matt Damon. He said: "The original didn't have Vincent Cassel in it, so the sequel's obviously better!"

Vincent said it was good being welcomed into the "Ocean club".

He enthused: "It's like working and having fun at the same time, and hopefully it'll show."

The 2001 hit heist caper, Oceans Eleven, was a remake of a 1960 movie that starred Hollywood's Rat Pack (Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr, among others).

Ruling puts pressure on celebrity books

Canadian singer Loreena McKennitt has won a privacy case in a judgement at London's Court of Appeal seen as significant for celebrities facing media exposure.

English law, unlike that of France for example, does not recognise a statutory right to privacy.

Any legal developments have had to be made through interpreting the law on breach of confidence.

Inevitably, in a media-driven age, much of the argument played out in the courts has revolved around celebrities - the model, Naomi Campbell, the actors, Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones, and the Beckhams.

The McKennitt judgment involves a lesser-known figure (at least in the UK) but the legal issues are of fundamental importance in the contest between the right to privacy and the right of free expression.

Michael Douglas is happy to gray gracefully

Dec 13: It seems that veteran Hollywood actor Michael Douglas now believes in keeping it natural, for after regular attempts at camouflaging his gray hair with blonde streaks the actor has now decided to revert to his natural grey look.

Pictured leaving The Ivy restaurant in Beverly Hills with his 37-year-old wife Catherine Zeta Jones, Douglas sported grey hair.

Wearing a cream jacket and lilac top with purple trousers and sunglasses he walked in front of Zeta-Jones who looked stunning in a low-cut black dress and diamond necklace.

"It was weird to see him with grey hair. He looked his age but that's better than dying it grey when you're over 60," an onlooker was quoted by the Daily Mail, as saying.

Over the years speculation has been rife about Douglas's enduring good looks.

Why a successful woman is never right

The Social Welsh and Sexy club, you may not know, was set up by Sian Lloyd and Stifyn Parri (theatre director and friend of Catherine Zeta-Jones) and includes such Welsh party animals as Ffion Hague and Sian Phillips.

The club's existence surfaced publicly last week, along with a photo of Sian Lloyd in her birthday suit and an unflattering description of her, er, 'difficulty' with fidelity. This is what a female celeb can expect when she is dumped.

Sisterly solidarity exists for the down-and-out woman wronged or for MPs' dowdy wives - whether dumped for a man or a woman. We sympathise with the celebrity's wife, that innocent who becomes an unwitting victim of hubby's fame. Since her husband left her after many years' betrayal, Ingrid Tarrant has received an avalanche of letters from similarly wronged wives.

I had some of the worst customers, the really arrogant ones." .
