Christina Ricci gives up fur

Once you've made yourself an enemy of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), it's tough to get back into the organization's good graces. Actress Christina Ricci has managed to do just that, however, after she promised to stop wearing fur recently.

Fans' fury, PETA lashing makes Christina Ricci drop fur

Being (dis)honored by People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) on their Worst Dressed Celebrity of 2006 list for wearing fur has made actress Christina Ricci see the errors of her way. The fact that fans were also not so enthusiastic about seeing their favorite celebrity don dead animals' coats prompted the actress to send an apology email to the animal rights organization. I never meant to hurt nor anger anyone with my insensitivity. For what it is worth I have received the message loud and clear and will not be wearing fur in the future. I apologize for my offensive actions, the actress wrote in the email. Ricci was placed third on the list, which was topped by Nicole Richie and Ashley Olsen. .

Christina Ricci says no to fur

Actress Christina Ricci will no longer be wearing fur after she was named one of the worst-dressed celebrities by the organisation People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.

A Christina fan shut down her fansite after discovering the star was a fur-wearer. The 26-year-old actress confessed, "I have been deluged with angry and disappointed fans. I never meant to hurt nor anger anyone with my insensitivity. For what it is worth I have received the message loud and clear and will not be wearing fur in the future."

Ricci is currently filming Penelope with Reese Witherspoon.

Christina Ricci Sorry For Wearing Furry Clothes

Christina Ricci is in an unenviable situation. Not only does her giant inflatable head prevent her from being able to explore the majesty of the stalactite display at Treak Cavern in Derbyshire for fear of popping, but also she annoys people by wearing fur.

You see, Christina Ricci - star of The Addams Family and no other films that you're ever likely to go and see - was recently named by PETA as one of the worst-dressed human beings on the face of the entire planet after she appeared on the front cover of a magazine draped in some kind of animal fur. But after literally both of her fans decided that they didn't want to the fans of a dirty fur-wearer, Christina Ricci has learnt the error of her ways and has promised never to wear animal fur again, as proved on the cover of the January issue of Vogue, where Christina Ricci can be seen dressed in the leathery skin of a homeless man, complete with a necklace made from lips and a natty nipple belt.

Romancing the enormous conflict diamond

Blood Diamond: Action adventure. Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Djimon Hounsou and Jennifer Connelly. Directed by Edward Zwick. (R. 143 minutes. At Bay Area theaters.)
Being nice about "Blood Diamond" would mean saying almost everything about it except the most important thing, that it is brain-fryingly boring. Here we have a film with all the gravitas, humane purpose and epic length of a classic, but with a lukewarm, uninvolving and slow-moving story, and with characters whose every action is predictable from at least an hour off. Director Edward Zwick tried to make a great movie, but somewhere in the process he forgot to make a good one.

In some ways there's really nothing worse than a mediocre picture made with the intent of winning an Oscar.
