| Resident Evil: Extinction The Last
According to the new official synopsis released for Resident Evil: Extinction (Resident Evil 3). It appears this might be the last we see of Alice and the zombies on the silver screen: "The third and final installment of the $100 million "Resident Evil" hits, "Resident Evil: Extinction" is again based on the wildly popular video game series and picks up where the last film left off. Alice (Milla Jovovich), now in hiding in the Nevada desert, once again joins forces with Carlos Olivera (Oded Fehr) and L.J. (Mike Epps), along with new survivors Claire (Ali Larter), K-Mart (Spencer Locke) and Nurse Betty (Ashanti) to try to eliminate the deadly virus that threatens to make every human being undead... and to seek justice. Since being captured by the Umbrella Corporation, Alice has been subjected to biogenic experimentation and becomes genetically altered, with super-human strengths, senses and dexterity.
Resident Evil: Extinction Pics for Your Enjoyment
I think my Cinematical colleague Mark Beall is spot-on when he writes that the first Resident Evil movie was pretty ok. Even if its not perfect (or even really good) in the world of video game-to-movie adaptations, it still ranks pretty high up on the list. Much higher than, say, Doom. Man, what happened there? Plus, Resident Evil has one very important thing going for it -- the exquisite Milla Jovovich.So, imagine my happiness knowing a third movie, cleverly titled Resident Evil: Extinction, is being made and will not only feature Jovovich, but also the equally hot Ali Larter as well. At the moment, we don't have many visuals that give a clue to the look of the film -- but one or two pics have surfaced. And now, there's a third one for your enjoyment -- all collected by the folks at IGN. The first two feature Jovovich striking some provocative and deadly poses as if to say "mess with me and die." The third features the lovely Larter decked out as a kick-ass soldier striding purposefully toward camera.
Besson Back for Forbidden City?
I don't know what to make of Luc Besson. I first became aware of the director in college after seeing his action-classic La Femme Nikita. In fact, that film was one of the first ones I purchased on DVD when I got a DVD player. Then, he went on to direct the nearly-as-impressive The Professional and The Fifth Element -- featuring the exquisite Milla Jovovich as the perfect woman (inspired casting, IMHO). I liked those films but I didn't love them as much as I loved La Femme Nikita. And please, don't even get me started on The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc. Man, what happened there?Anyway, Besson continued to direct a few more films after The Messenger -- including Angel-A and the upcoming children's live-action/cgi film Arthur and the Minimoys (which our own Monika wrote about previously).
Alec praises Kim after feud
Alec Baldwin, whose divorce and custody battle with ex-wife Kim Basinger has been as long as it is intense, has praised the actress for her parenting skills. After winning a new court order earlier this year, the 'Hunt For Red October' actor appears ready to cease the legal battle. "My ex-wife was somebody who was funny and she was fun... and she was a lot of fun to be with," he said on Larry King Live last week. "She was a great, great person. And then all of a sudden I think we just wanted to live different lives. But I think she's a great mother, yes, good mom." The actor also revealed that he's happy with the custody rights he now has over daughter Ireland. "I have what I have now. I have the orders that I have now."
