| Who Would Be Your Last Kiss of 2006
The Last Kiss was one of my most anticipated movie for the post summer movie season. In it, actors Zach Braff, Jacinda Barrett, Casey Affleck, and Rachel Bilson explore what it means to be in a relationship and discontented, and whether that leads to a last kiss or not. The dramatic, touching story hits DVD on December 26th. Of course, this time of year we all want to focus on happier thoughts, so instead of thinking about the last kiss of your relationship, Paramount Home Video wants you to think about your last kiss of 2006. Click here to pick the celebrity youd like to lay one on before the year rings out. See how you stack up compared to other peoples selections (my pick was the most popular for the guys, how about yours?). Resident Evil: Extinction Pics for Your Enjoyment
I think my Cinematical colleague Mark Beall is spot-on when he writes that the first Resident Evil movie was pretty ok. Even if its not perfect (or even really good) in the world of video game-to-movie adaptations, it still ranks pretty high up on the list. Much higher than, say, Doom. Man, what happened there? Plus, Resident Evil has one very important thing going for it -- the exquisite Milla Jovovich. So, imagine my happiness knowing a third movie, cleverly titled Resident Evil: Extinction, is being made and will not only feature Jovovich, but also the equally hot Ali Larter as well. At the moment, we don't have many visuals that give a clue to the look of the film -- but one or two pics have surfaced. And now, there's a third one for your enjoyment -- all collected by the folks at IGN. The first two feature Jovovich striking some provocative and deadly poses as if to say "mess with me and die." The third features the lovely Larter decked out as a kick-ass soldier striding purposefully toward camera.
Hannah House Offers Refuge
FORT SMITH -- Not every teenage or 20-something woman who becomes pregnant cares to live in a chaperoned residence, study the Bible every day or consider an abstinent lifestyle -- but for those who do, Hannah House might be an "awesome" solution, as one employee and former resident describes it.Hannah House, a nonprofit Christian ministry that offers a refuge for young women in crisis, has housed 121 such clients opening in 1997.Residents stay an average of six months, usually leaving soon after giving birth, but some receive transitional living assistance as well, said Cindy Crawford, Hannah House CEO.About 35 percent of the residents have been referred from out of state, and about 10 percent choose to give their babies up for adoption, Crawford said. Applicants go through a two-part interview to ensure that they are willing to make a lifestyle change and to live in the interdenominational Christian environment provided.Applicants are not required to become Christian, but lifestyle change is mandatory, she said."When a girl comes in here pregnant, she needs a lifestyle change," Crawford said.
Olsen Twins Launch Fashion Line With Childhood Friend
New York, NY (AHN) - Self-made multi-millionaires and media stars Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have teamed up with their childhood friend, Danielle Sherman, to launch a fashion line called The Row. The line features 28 basic knitted pieces ranging from a t-shirt to floor-sweeping cashmere vest costing $150 to $850 respectively. Sherman tells US Vogue that it took them nine months to even perfect a seamless, slouchy, silken t-shirt with a French seam at the back. " We wanted perfection-or as close as we could get," Sherman says, "And we didn't have to rush to achieve it." The high-end couture seaming technique was also used in their bat-wing top, mini slip and super skinny black pant. The line's name is inspired from the famous London street, Savile Row, well-known for its impeccable tailoring.
