| Much More On Heyman/McMahon/ECW Situation
Signs indicate that Paul Heyman is done with WWE, although nothing has been confirmed yet. Word is that Vince McMahon was extremely upset with Heyman today, blaming him for how awful the ECW PPV was yesterday. Of course, most people close to the situation feel that McMahon had more to do with the booking of the show than Heyman did, but Heyman got the blame. Many feel that Heyman was getting the bad end of things because he was still stuck in the past and was not accepting the "new ECW." Heyman and other ECW workers were all upset about the PPV last night and Heyman apparently expressed his dislike of the booking before and after the show. Things came up between Heyman and McMahon last night that continued today and led to the meeting (which Stephanie McMahon also attended) where Heyman was sent home.
The Story On Paul Heyman's Departure From WWE
Internally, it is being said that Vince McMahon was absolutely irate in regards to how awful last night's ECW PPV was. Furthermore, McMahon is looking to put the blame on Heyman for it. The theory for the blame on Heyman is, "he is caught in the past and doesn't understand the new vision of ECW". Problems started yesterday when most everyone realized that the ECW PPV was quite awful to say the least. Heyman was unhappy with how the show was booked and he voiced his concerns before and after the show. There were issues between Heyman and McMahon because of how the show played out on TV, with most everyone knowing that it was a disaster. Furthermore, the problems carried over from last night, and led to incidents occuring backstage at today's RAW/ECW taping. At 2:00 P.M., Heyman had a meeting with Vince and Stephanie McMahon.
Who Steph Wants To Push, Wrestler Signed, The Marine
Stephanie McMahon sees Daniel Rodimer as "the new Diesel" and she wants to group him with Edge and Randy Orton. There are already RAW brand house shows being advertised with DX vs. Edge, Randy Orton and Rodimer in 2-on-3 matches. Rodimer has only been wrestling since August. WWE has signed Russell Simpson to a developmental contract. Simpson, 32, has previously worked in Japan for HUSTLE. He has also appeared on HEAT several times in the last two years as a jobber. The Marine is at $18,719,747 domestic, and $19,776,273 when you include overseas. Advertisement: Click here for tons of photos of Stephanie (>>) .
The Piledriver Report 12.13.06: The Fall of Paul Heyman and the ...
After one of the worst pay per views in the last several years, the WWE made Paul Heyman the scapegoat and removed him from ECWs creative and on-air roster. This weeks Piledriver Report looks at what led to the break-up, how the pay per view was only one of several reasons for the current failures in ECW, and where the WWE/Paul Heyman relationship goes from here. WHAT?! It's the one word that I can use to describe what went through my mind when I read on the Wrestling Observer website "Obviously the Paul Heyman situation is something that is going to require a major feature, but there is a lot that is out on the story that isn't correct. The story is not a work in the sense that Heyman was sent home, and the WWE web site reactions actually read like honest reactions. Everything reads on the web site as if it's storyline, and tonight with the Heyman promos, for those who are convinced it is, you'll have more ammunition.
